Who we are

Owner-operated arborists, based in Wanaka

Trees Company Arborists are based in Wanaka, owned and operated by Andrew Hennigan. Andy has worked in arboriculture for over 20 years, with experience and qualifications gained in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, and a plain way of putting it: our main focus as a company is to keep customers happy and help to manage their green spaces.

It is a small, local, owner-operated business on purpose, and all our arborists are qualified and passionate about their work. That is also why we can say we are reliable and mean it.

Qualified, insured, reliable

Trained for work at height and insured for it, and known around Wanaka for turning up when we said we would.

Over 20 years with trees

Formative pruning, big removals, bracing, milling and planting, learned in three countries and practised in this climate.

Local

Based in Wanaka and working across the Upper Clutha and Central Otago: Hawea, Makarora, Cromwell and Alexandra, Monday to Friday.

Trees first

We would rather prune than remove, we donate to tree planting charities to help offset the trees that do come down, and the brush goes back into gardens as mulch.

How we work

Honest advice, then the right job

Every job starts with a free consultation. We look at the tree and the space it is in, listen to what you want from it, and tell you what we would do if it were our own garden. Sometimes that is a full crown reduction; sometimes it is a light prune and a promise to look again in five years; sometimes it is that the tree has to come down and here is what to plant instead.

The New Zealand Arboricultural Association says tree work should be done only by those trained and equipped to work safely in trees. We agree, which is why the climbing, the rigging and the chainsaw work are done by qualified arborists, led by an owner who has spent two decades doing them.
